Legacy Miami Worldcenter has had its height approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The agency granted approval for the tower to be built at a height of 661 feet above ground, or 671 feet above sea level.

Review by the FAA took about four months. The application was submitted on September 28, and was approved on January 21.

Paramount Miami Worldcenter, which was completed in 2019 across the street by the same developer , was approved and built at a height of 699 feet above ground, or 709 feet above sea level – the only tower at Worldcenter so far to be approved at a taller height.

Legacy also includes a spire at the top, which is included in the height approval.

A City of Miami construction permit for Legacy is still under review, with the plans formally submitted on December 16. However, the developer is using a more expensive private provider review to expedite approval. They have also applied for expedited life and safety review.

Legacy will break ground in early 2021, according to Miami Worldcenter. Developer Royal Palm Communities completed the purchase of the site in December 2020.
